You can select the Wild Ball in any or all of the boards you play, to give you a better chance of winning a prize. Find out more about this optional feature of Pick 3 and how it can bring you a prize even if you fail to match all the winning numbers.
The Wild Ball itself is another number that is selected in every draw, after the three main winning digits. It is also drawn from a field of 0 to 9, so it can be the same as any of the other numbers or something different.
To add the Wild Ball to your play, just select the option on your playslip or tell the retailer. You don’t need to do anything else, but adding the Wild Ball does double the cost of a Pick 3 play.
After the draw has taken place, the Wild Ball can be used to replace any of the winning numbers. For example, if the main numbers drawn are 123 and the Wild Ball is 7, it can be swapped in to create three new combinations – 723, 173 and 127 – all of which would reward players with prizes.
It is possible to win multiple Wild Ball prizes on the same play, on top of any wins that may be achieved in the base game.
If the Wild Ball is the same as one of the numbers you have selected, it could give you a Pick 3 win as you might be able to swap it in for one of the three main winning digits. Here are a couple of examples:
Straight – If you pick the numbers 000 and the numbers drawn are 001, this would be a lost wager in the base game. However, if the Wild Ball is 0, you can bring this in to replace the 1 and create a winning combination.
Box – You play the numbers 456, and the winning three-digit combination is 641. This is a loss in the base game, but if the Wild Ball is 5, this can replace the 1 from the main draw. This gives you the numbers 645, which is a winning combination as all your numbers are now present.
Front Pair - The numbers you play are 77, the first two winning digits are 77, and the Wild Ball is also 7. You already have a prize in the base game, but you can still use the Wild Ball to replace either of the two 7s, giving you two more wins.
