To win a Pick 3 prize, you have to match the winning numbers as per the conditions of your play type. For example, if you play a Straight, all the numbers you pick must be drawn in the same positions.
There is a fixed payout for each type of play, proportional to your play amount. The most you can win on the game is $600, for a $1 Straight play.
Prize amounts reflect the chances of winning. For example, the odds of winning a Front Pair or Back Pair wager are 1 in 100 – which is 10x better than the odds of winning a Straight – so the payout is 10x lower at $60 for a $1 play.
Your chances of winning also improve if you play the Wild Ball option, which allows you to swap in the extra number for any of the three main winning digits.

Every prize is a fixed amount and you are guaranteed to receive the advertised amount, regardless of how many winners there are. To ensure that prizes never have to be reduced, the Missouri Lottery has a liability limit of $1.5 million in place for Pick 3.
This limit prevents the Missouri Lottery from selling more winning tickets that it can pay for. While the results of every draw are entirely random, the Missouri Lottery can track sales of each number combination and then suspend sales if necessary. It only happens rarely, but popular numbers such as 123, 777 or 911 may sell out before a drawing takes place if lots of players are taking part, so you will either have to play a different number or wait until the following draw.
